BUILDING a COMMUNITY for EVERYONE.

OUR MISSION IS THAT SIMPLE. United Way of West Central Illinois strengthens our region by raising funds, granting those funds to organizations and programs doing the good work, and collaborating with local stakeholders to improve resilience, well-being, and sense of belonging for every individual regardless of their cultural or socioeconomic background. Every year, we raise money for local organizations and programs that respond to a variety of needs in our region. We are responsible for raising funds for local agencies so that they can stay focused on the great work they do on the ground. Our fundraising support is critical for their success. And, we realize the power in giving a little collectively, so that local agencies receive a lot.

STATEMENT ON BELONGING.

United Way of West Central Illinois believes firmly that all of us should feel like we belong. We are opposed to all discrimination, racism, bigotry, oppression and hate; overt or otherwise, because it undermines the well-being and vitality of our region and is in direct opposition to being a good human. We intentionally identify, discuss, and challenge all factors of inequity and the impacts they have on our organization, its systems, its people, and our region. Genuinely valuing diversity is to respect and appreciate race, religion, financial status, skin color, ethnicity,  gender, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, physical abilities, age, parental status, work, and behavioral styles as well as the perspective of every individual shaped by their experiences.
